Gov. Chris Christie to Co-Host 'Today' Show

Gov. Chris Christie to Co-Host 'Today' Show

The man of the hour, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie continues to make headlines. First, it was the governor's spider squashing video, then his weight-loss "secret," and now a "Today" show guest hosting gig.

That's right; NJ Gov. Chris Christie will be guest hosting NBC's "Today" show on May 24. It's not quite as daunting a task as it seems on paper. According to the Associated Press, the show will already be broadcasting from the Jersey Shore as a part of its "Great American Adventure" road trip (exact location has not been revealed yet). Also, Christie will be on the air for an hour, instead of the entire show.

Christie, who is running for a second term as governor of New Jersey and has been rumored to be a potential 2016 presidential candidate, is already taking up a lot of the spotlight. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and former first lady Laura Bush also previously guest-hosted the "Today" show, but Palin was not an active politician at the time.
