If Tom Hanks ran for president, he might just win. A Readers Digest trust poll found that the actor is the most trusted man in America. President Obama didn't even come in the top 10!
Readers Digest teamed up with The Wagner Group to poll over 1,000 Americans to find out who has the public's trust. The top five most trusted people on the list were almost all actors or actresses. Number two on the list was Sandra Bullock, followed by Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep. Coming in at number five was Maya Angelou. Bill Gates (#7) and Melinda Gates (#9) both came in the top 10 beating out the president and first lady.
Not only did President Obama not come in the top 10, but he finished at number 65 on the list. Michelle Obama came in ahead of her husband at number 19. A number of politicians beat out the president on the list with former Secretary of State's Madeleine Albright (#23) and Colin Powell (#32), Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (#36), Supreme Court Justice Breyer (#43), and Hillary Clinton (#51) all coming in ahead of the president.
